Maine International Trade Center (MITC) is hiring an International Trade Specialist for our Portland, ME office. A hybrid schedule is available; however, the employee must reside in Maine for tax purposes.
Requirements include:
- Confidence in speaking with a variety of business owners and ability to quickly grasp their needs and recommend resources and tools to support international opportunities
- Understanding of the differing needs of Maine’s rural and urban communities
- Excellent communication including writing, speaking, and presentation skills; uses good judgment in determining appropriate vehicle for effective communication (e.g., phone, email, text)
- Experience in an entrepreneurial setting and desire to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone pitches in to do what’s needed for success
Responsibilities include:
- Serves as an account manager to meet the needs of MITC members and businesses looking to do business internationally
- Promotes the work of MITC and the various programs, tools, and resources available to Maine businesses
- Finds ways to expand MITC’s influence and capabilities by seeking out strategic partnerships with businesses, associations, and governmental organizations
- Coordinates and participates in trade shows, trade delegations, and symposiums in support of Maine businesses seeking to grow internationally
