The National Science Foundation is funding a five-year study into the state’s coastal waters to further the understanding of sustainability of coastal ecosystems using environmental DNA or eDNA, the genetic traces left behind by living organisms. The study is a collaboration among Bigelow Laboratory, the University of Maine, Southern Maine Community College and Colby College. Read more
